Kimberley Carlile
This is the only photo we could find of Kimberley. This was found from a clipping of a Glasgow paper, hundreds of miles away from where she was murdered!. Let us start by telling you the story of Kimberley and why we feel we cannot forget this little girl. Kimberley was born in November 1981 in Birkenhead, United Kingdom. She was born to mother Pauline Carlile who was in an abusive relationship. When Kim was just seven months old she was bought to the attention of the social services. She soon fled to London with Kim's father where he later died. She then met another man, Nigel Hall. It was not long before Greenwich social services were involved in her life. She and her siblings were suspected of being abused and even after complaints of abuse we made by the children, they remained the care of Pauline and Nigel Hall! When Kimberley was just four years old, the abuse got to much and the final blows were dealt. Her autopsy concluded that on the day of her death she had been burned 15 times by cigarette neatly aligned down her spine, she had been violently kicked in the head and beaten severely! The autopsy also revealed older injuries of broken bones, a scar on her buttocks which was caused by a red hot instrument and bruising around her genitals, sexual abuse was suspected to have been occurring for at least nine months prior to her murder, but could not be confirmed, the coroner also noted that the skin on her ears had come away from her face from being picked up by just her ears! If this was not bad enough, her body was starved, emaciated and dehydrated, she was forced to eat her own feces to satisfy her hunger pangs. Kim's last Christmas was spent in her bedroom with a glass of water and a sandwich while her older brother and younger sister were playing with their new toys and eating a feast! In court her own mother stated 'I could not bare to bathe her because I didn't want to see the injuries!" Pauline was sentenced to just 12 years, but it is believed that she served nowhere near this and even remarried just 8 years after Kim's murder, Nigel Hall was sentenced to 18 years, althought it is unknown how long he truly served! We have been researching this case for sometime, we have contacted every cemetery within London and in the Wirral to find the location of her burial, we contacted the social services who handled her case and even the newspapers archives of every paper covering the Greenwich area at the time of her death!. We have found nothing! We physically cannot find this girl, it's almost as if she has just been forgotten! We of course, could not let this happen and after speaking with Greenwich Council we spoke about placing a memorial in Sutcliffe Park, which is right next to the housing estate which Kimberley was murdered in! The park has recently been excavated and has a new park for children to play on, we thought what better way to remember Kimberley than placing a permanent memorial a park for children. A photo of Sutcliffe Park can be found below. The playground is not included in the picture, but as you can see it is peaceful and had a lovely lake which children visit and feed the animals there. The plaque which has been ordered for Kimberley can be seen below.
On the 22nd May 2010 Kimberley was honored with her bench, it was placed in the playground of Sutcliffe park. Please see the pictures below.
